When choosing legal representation, it’s easy to think that truth alone will carry their case. However, in practice, many verdicts depend less on facts than on how those facts are structured and presented. That understanding is central to Resolute Employment & Disability Lawyers. The firm stands firmly on the employees’ side, specialising in employment and disability law, and supports its advocacy with an educational mindset from the start. Education is the first step to better decisions at Resolute. Through books, a YouTube channel, a show, and consultations, the firm helps individuals understand their situation before they commit to legal steps. He believes that clients can avoid costly mistakes early on by knowing how the system works. “We are one hundred percent dedicated to the employees’ side, representing employees with a focus on employee employment issues and disability law,” says David Brannen, founder and managing lawyer. The Story Alignment Method At the core of Resolute’s approach is the Story Alignment Method™, a five-step system Brannen has developed and refined over the past fifteen years. This method is grounded in a principle drawn from U.S. research: Legal cases become more persuasive when cast as narratives that align with decision-makers’ expectations, incentives, and beliefs. This approach grew from an early case that left a lasting mark. A woman who had lost a CPP disability claim was given a rare chance for a second hearing due to changes in the tribunal system. When she came to Brannen, it was immediately apparent that her story had not been fully told. Key details were missing, including her decade-long struggle as a teacher, the medical evidence supporting her condition, and the ways she had tried to adapt to keep working..read more

Maximizing Benefits Through Innovation in Hr Solutions

The Canadian employment landscape is evolving rapidly, shaped by a growing commitment to inclusivity, changing labour laws and a national focus on equitable workplaces. Legal advocacy in this field is redefining how Canadian employers approach accessibility and human rights compliance in the workplace.

Disability and employment lawyers are at the forefront of this transformation, helping organizations navigate complex legal frameworks while ensuring that individuals with disabilities have fair access to opportunities and workplace protections. They are helping employers build fair and inclusive workplaces with their expertise in Canadian Human Rights Act, provincial employment standards and accessibility legislations.

For employees, these legal professionals act as vital aides protecting them from discrimination, harassment and wrongful dismissal. They empower employees by providing direct representation, strategic advocacy and legal education, while strengthening understanding between staff and employers.

Progressive legal strategies have become central to advancing accessibility and inclusion in workplaces. Proactive policy development and mediation services offered by disability and employment law professionals are helping organizations prevent disputes, adopt inclusive hiring and align workplace policies with best practices in diversity and human rights. Such preventive approaches are proving instrumental in reducing litigation risks for organizations while enhancing their reputation as an equitable employer.

This edition of Manage HR Canada explores how disability and employment lawyers are driving systemic change in the modern workforce.

Featured thought leaders include Pascal Salhuana, manager, organizational change management & transformation at Air Canada, who highlights the evolving role of change management practitioners as organizations navigate rapid, technology-driven transformation. Kristina Cole, director, learning and development at Go Auto, emphasizes building a strong learning culture to embed development into daily operations and drive measurable results.

We hope this edition inspires new perspectives on how disability and employment lawyers are redefining workplace equality, supporting organizational growth and ensuring that inclusion remains at the heart of the modern employment landscape.
