Ralph Lorenzo DeNino, PartnerIn a conversation with Manage HR magazine, Ray DeLuke and Ralph Lorenzo DeNino, Partners at RLDCEC, talk about how the company’s team of seasoned industry experts understand the nuances of work-life balance and design coaching programs that enable companies to achieve their organizational goals.
What are some of the hurdles clients face in the industry today?
It is paramount for individuals to develop a comprehensive understanding of the workings of their organization and acknowledge the areas of required improvement, especially when working cohesively as a team. There is a growing reliance on teamwork settings within organizations, which has increased the demand for collaboration and diversity of thought. To realize the vision of a cohesive work environment, individuals need to go beyond their past business practices. In addition, operating conditions, corporate culture, and the personalities of peers can present challenges in working toward project completion and achieving collective business goals effectively.
We can guide these individuals to relate to others in their firm and ensure that all project specifications are communicated clearly among every team member. In the case of offering group coaching, we help them understand that there are differences and variances in how people comprehend, how they like to move forward, and how they work. This understanding empowers individuals to be more productive as a team.
The backbone of our firm is our people; coaches with expertise and extensive experience in navigating the changes brought on by changing organizational dynamics, mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures
What is the approach you take to deploy your tailor-made programs?
Our company is at the forefront of developing and implementing innovative and tailor-made strategies to help our clients meet and exceed their business goals. We offer one-on-one and group coaching services customized to clients’ specific requirements and deliver complete client satisfaction. Our company can also assist organizational leaders and their teams in navigating the rough terrain of change resulting from mergers and acquisitions.
We have had many engagements around motivating a team and building and deploying the right strategy for business growth and development. Our team has assisted clients by developing programs solely based on improving communications across the organization along with initiatives to improve specific relationships, for instance, between a CEO and a COO. Some of the other programs we have worked on include raising people’s awareness about their own behavior, the dynamics involved, and how others perceive them within their team and the company, as opposed to how they perceive themselves.
Our collaborative service approach lies at the core of every client engagement, where we focus on matching client’s requirements with our own capabilities. We work closely with clients to ensure alignment before initiating a project. Through this close alignment of shared values, we have been able to maximize the impact of those we coach. Our core focus is on these individual’s impact as leaders within their organizations and to help improve their skills to develop their team members.
We also collaborate with clients to mentor others in their organization, both informally and where the company structure allows, formally through mentoring programs we develop. Engaging others through this approach not only helps the individuals but initiates the development of the next group of leaders for the future. Unlike others, we do not take a set approach to engaging with individuals. We ensure that every program is customized to the individual’s needs, maximizing personal development and accelerating performance improvements.
What sets you apart in the executive coaching arena?
Our uniqueness and strength are in our change management approach to coaching. Whether it is individuals caught up in a merger, acquisition, divestiture, or adjusting to changes in company culture brought on by new senior management, we can help executives and high-potential employees navigate the dynamics of the changing organizational landscape. We have also assisted business leaders in driving change effectively while addressing the delicate balance of initiative timing and impact on company personnel. Our philosophy is to be extremely selective in our engagements based on whether there is an alignment between the shared values of the client and the coach.
The backbone of our firm is our people; coaches with expertise and extensive experience in navigating the changes brought on by changing organizational dynamics, mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. With multiple team members having personally been part of anywhere from 50 to 125 transactions and transitions, we understand the unique challenges of ownership change.
With our experience in the field, we understand how ownership change can also impact the personal lives of individuals and, therefore, merits attention. Given the employees’ desires for an improved work-life balance, business lives often conflict with personal lives. Our qualified team of experts with the necessary know-how and skills to drive quick results can help clients find the right balance and traverse through change.
Unlike many coaches that lay out a plan that gives individuals a recommended approach to solving problems, our team distinguishes itself by constantly striving to develop individuals we work with and assist them in finding the best-fit solution themselves. This approach leads to increased development and long-term gains.
By helping these individuals think through scenarios, role-playing to prepare them for real-time communications, and breaking down the barriers created by paradigms, we create the environment to allow them to see not only different perspectives but develop a richer, more advanced point-of-view on essential elements for themselves and their business success.
