Companies can conduct blind screenings to prevent unconscious biases in the resume review process. Studies have discovered that people with stereotypically “ethnic” names need to send out more resumes before they get a response.

Let us look at some idea for cultivating diversity and inclusion in the Workplace:[vendor_logo_first]
Change It to Gender-neutral Language
Companies can start with converting all job descriptions to gender-neutral language, auditing all job descriptions to check for any use of ‘he/his/him’ as default, and converting them to gender-neutral pronouns like ‘he or she’ or ‘they.’
Encourage Results-based Job Descriptions
Companies can write results-based job descriptions since studies have revealed that men apply for a job when they meet only 60 percent of the qualifications, but women will only apply when they meet 100 percent of them. Rather than being based on a checklist of skills that may remove great female and minority candidates, job descriptions should primarily focus on what a candidate will be expected to achieve.
Blind Screenings
Companies can conduct blind screenings to prevent unconscious biases in the resume review process. Studies have discovered that people with stereotypically “ethnic” names need to send out more resumes before they get a response. However, resumes with female names are considered less competent than ones with male names despite having no difference in qualifications mentioned in the resumes.
Provide Flexibility
Companies can allow flexible work hours. It is important to show employees that they are being trusted to get their work done. Employers need to allow them the freedom to create their own work hours. Employees have all sorts of personal situations that may impact their ability to work a strict 9 to 5. Lack of flexibility makes the lives of some employees difficult and increases stress. As a result, they may be compelled to leave the company for something that provides more flexibility.
