As the global economy approaches the third year of the epidemic, innovation and resilience, which define diverse and inclusive businesses, will be critical. Otherwise, bringing about a structural change in the workplace will be tough. In addition, in the previous year, factors such as skill shortages and supply chain disruptions have surfaced, which will influence the DEI environment in 2022. Pei Tan, an investment manager at Beijing's Tianjin Research Institute for Advanced Equipment stated that the global economy is facing many issues, global trade is decreasing, and raw material prices are rising. Every firm needs imaginative ideas that only a varied staff can bring, but without forgetting about fairness, for a firm to survive in such an environment.
The only two components of the equation are diversity and inclusion. The other crucial component is equity. Acknowledging and combating conscious and unconscious bias against disadvantaged groups is essential to achieving equity. Equity is what makes diversity and inclusion initiatives successful, Tan added, since diversity is impossible without equal access and opportunity. One of the most important business trends for 2022 is challenging biases to increase equity. People from all backgrounds and experiences have the right to equal representation and progression chances in the workplace. It may be addressed in a variety of ways, according to Tan, including investing in personnel development.
