Stress, anxiety, and depression (S.A.D) can narrow down a person’s ability to think, function effectively, and enjoy life. Dawn-Marie Dalsass, a stress management maven and Certified Mindset Transformation Coach, is on a mission to make individuals more balanced, aware, and dynamic (B.A.D) by dealing with the root causes of S.A.D.

Her life has been a roller-coaster ride for years. From suffering from postpartum depression to divorce, Dalsass has faced multiple difficulties at different phases of life since her teenage years.

“S.A.D could have been my middle name. I was seeing therapists, neurologists, chiropractors, and acupuncturists to defeat mental and physical ailments that were developing from S.A.D. But I never achieved the desired outcomes,” says Dalsass, CEO, Livelihood Spirit Balance.

“I started searching for a natural way to heal and learned all the skills I could to battle S.A.D. It took years, but I finally did it.”

Today, Dalsass disseminates her learning to a larger audience through her organization, Livelihood Spirit Balance. The company provides clients with a full array of options, including featured courses and immersions, such as the free weekly Mindfulness Meditation program and coaching and forest therapy to help them get started on their stress management journey. It also offers online courses, including “From S.A.D Ass to B.A.D Ass” and a 1:1 coaching program the Massive Mindset Shift® program, spanning 12 weeks.

Dalsass believes medications are great for someone diagnosed with a chemical imbalance. But for people who face depression caused by their response to external stressors causing anxiety, it isn’t the long-term solution. At Livelihood Spirit Balance, Dalsass teaches clients to look inward to balance their emotions and thoughts surrounding their triggers, perceived negatives, and perceived positives. When one is able to balance their emotions and thoughts, S.A.D. tends to melt away.

Dalsass is also a certified Forest Therapy guide. The concept of Nature and Forest Therapy was derived from the Japanese practice of Shinrin-yoku, a.k.a Forest Bathing, which helped deal with the crisis of Karoshi (death by overwork). She has added this to her repertoire of services to enable clients to achieve overall wellbeing—body, mind, and soul.

Although Livelihood Spirit Balance primarily focuses on providing one-on-one services, it also offers group programs, including Forest Therapy for company retreats and corporate presentations

“I’ve even brought Forest Therapy indoors for those who cannot get out in a nursing home,” says Dalsass.

The effectiveness of Livelihood Spirit Balance’s approach can be aptly illustrated through an example. One of its clients was diagnosed with PTSD after suffering severe harassment at her place of employment. She went through the Massive Mindset Shift program, and the outcome was impressive. The lady was able to move on and even face the individuals that caused her harm without being triggered.

“She reached out to me to let me know that she is still using the skills and tools she learned from the program and expressed her gratitude,” says Dalsass. All the approaches and programs Livelihood Spirit Balance brings to the table are self-experienced and wellresearched. It focuses on the overall wellbeing of an individual by balancing their emotions and thoughts and reducing S.A.D.
