Fredrik Krüeger currently works as an HR & Legal Director for 247 Group, a group with about 15 different companies, of which Fitness24Seven is the largest and best known. He has also held both specialist roles (Corporate Lawyer) and line manager responsibilities and has spent just over 20 years in HR. Fredrik is passionate about finding and developing each individual's full potential.

What are some of the recent trends impacting HR industry?

Most of the trends impacting HR industry today focus on total well being of hybrid working class. In addition, there is a great growing trend toward creating purpose-driven organization and implementing diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

What are some of the challenges impacting HR industry?

Knowing how to handle uncertainty in a world that is continuously changing and presenting new issues on a daily basis, whether it's greater inflation, an energy crisis, is the common challenges for human resources profession. I believe that the ability to handle the power of innovation is something that can play a key role, cause that's a challenge with the hybrid work model grows stronger. Furthermore, the hybrid working environment can make it difficult to incentivize employees to return to the office, which impacts your ability to track talent. Thus, ensuring that you build an attractive environment and place a strong emphasis on holistic welfare will be of utmost importance in addressing these difficulties.

What are some of your recent project initiatives?

We have made digital investments in our human resources system, labour management system, and payroll system. As doing this will ensure that we continue expanding and growing without having to worry about our systems being unable to accommodate further expansion. We are also constructing a new learning and development platform where we emphasis e-learnings  on heavily as a part of our project.

What are some of the future technologies that you are optimistic about in the HR industry?

Using data analytics in the future will provide a significant amount of knowledge, which can be used to develop effective leadership and a stronger focus on cost reduction. A further advancement in technology is the utilization of AI in the recruitment process. We are now collaborating with a partner in the recruiting industry that utilizes AI in a way that supports diversity and inclusion. Also, new modes of communication will be utilized in the process of recruiting qualified candidates. For instance, in order to facilitate communication, we will not restrict ourselves to the use of written content. We will be using videos and sound files to help improve communication.

What would be your piece of advice for budding professional in the field?

Today talents are constantly looking for a healthy work-life balance and also the opportunity to work for a company that does not only deliver a service or a product, but a company with a higher purpose and preferable sustainable purpose. Therefore it's becoming increasingly important to understand why people choose to work for your company. As this helps in reducing staff turnover and increase profit.
