The clients employee was recently, just before they went to work, released from prison, and the criminal record depicted a conviction more than seven years ago. However, the State Fair Credit Reporting Act stipulated that the seven-year time frame did not start running until the person was released. The previous company had missed it simply because it went reported based on the conviction date instead of the release date.
